Why Mine-Direct Matters

The Standard Crystal Supply Chain

Most minerals pass through five or more hands before reaching a collector: mine to regional aggregator, aggregator to export broker, broker to a show like Tucson, show to dealer, dealer to you. Each step adds margin, loses documentation, and dilutes origin information.

The Raw Earth Model

We cut that chain to two steps: mine to our Miami warehouse, warehouse to you. We maintain direct relationships with six mine operators across Chihuahua, Durango, and Guerrero. When a specimen arrives in our warehouse, we know its mine name, region, and mineral composition because we asked before we ordered.

The Tariff Math

Chinese mineral imports now face tariffs exceeding 57%. Mexican minerals under USMCA: 0%. That is not a small difference. On a $10 wholesale specimen, the tariff alone adds $5.70 to Chinese-sourced material. Our Mexican specimens land duty-free.

Why Provenance Matters

For collectors, documented origin affects resale value, donation value, and scientific credibility. For retailers, provenance gives your customers a story worth telling. For everyone, knowing where your minerals come from is simply better than not knowing.
